Making kids feel more confident and less alone in their journey

Being in a hospital is never easy — especially for a child. Minihospitalet aims to bring play, comfort, and understanding into a world that often feels unfamiliar, frightening, and overwhelming. Based on the company’s values and personal story, I have developed a visual identity and character universe designed to support children and families as they navigate the hospital experience.

The aim of this project was to create a brand that expresses warmth, courage, and recognizability. A brand that speaks to children with illnesses and special needs — but also to their siblings and other children who want to understand and engage with a reality many families face closely.

The characters were designed as small helpers, companions, and friends. They embody bravery, curiosity, and a sense of playfulness, helping to make complex hospital situations more approachable. Through their personalities and expressions, children can relate, ask questions, and find comfort in something familiar.

The characters appear across both digital and physical platforms — on social media, in store materials, on posters, t-shirts, and printed communication. This ensures that children encounter the same friendly and reassuring story whether they are at home, in the hospital, or online.
